I'm not actually a Manthorpe - I'm a "Smith"!

A number of years ago my father started to build a family tree and during his research into our history he found we were connected to the Manthorpe name (his mother's maiden name, I believe) and through his research met members of the Manthorpe line.

This community has been keeping in touch through the means of a quarterly Manthorpe newsletter, and have had a successful meeting in Norfolk (UK). I'm not "properly" connected to the group - part of my contribution is to continue the work my Father started with his website. The results are as you see now.

The site itself is still in development phase; it has been mentioned in the latest newsletter so I'm expecting more visitors along with suggestions and contributions. Apart from that, I can put you in touch with others in the community if that helps.

Hi Marston. It is Chris and Margaret Smith here. We organised the last reunion at Somerleyton Hall. Dave, who is now the main webmaster for this site, is our son. We have, for the last three years, been living in Spain. It is very nice there, warm, sunny and really nice people. Chris is back into UK for 8 weeks to get some hospital treatment, look up old friends and have a short break from the heat of Spain. Best Wishes to you and your family. C&M
